Can a British pound coin from the 1980’s still be used in 2009?
I was looking through a can of old coins today, and I found 11 British pound coins. I looked at the dates and they are all from about 1988/1989. Can they still be used. I would love to trade them in for my local currency (the equivalent would be about $1500 JMD) since I doubt I’ll be going to England any time soon. I looked up pictures of the current pound coin online, just to make sure it was an exact match, and they do match! But is there an expiration date for coins? Thanks for the help.
No they can be used anytime!
